One of the common questions I get asked by young professionals is “How do I know which skills to acquire and how do I curate my professional development”. My response has always been the same and is very simple. “Follow the data”. 💯%

Welcome to the realms of Data-Driven Career Decision-making. This involves assessing your current strengths, skills and aligning your interests with potential careers. Researching industry trends, job demand, and salary ranges, while addressing skill gaps through targeted education (programs, Bootcamps & certifications). Additionally, it requires building a strong network for insights, seeking mentorship, setting clear and achievable goals, and adapting to industry changes.

Personally, at the start of each year, I look 2 to 3 years ahead, I set goals and then ask myself how do I get there? I usually put together an achievable roadmap and fully commit to it. This approach has empowered me to make strategic choices, align my skills with market demands, and navigate my career with confidence and resilience in an ever-changing professional landscape. This method has enhanced my success and career satisfaction.
