Stop Immigration to Canada!
Canada is caught in a population trap. That is the current alarm being raised from Economists, Academics and Politicians. Canada's population is growing so fast that the country's capital-labour ratio is declining.
Canada currently lacks the infrastructure and capital stock to adequately absorb current population growth and improve current standard of living.
The Gap is so big that Canada needs to build nearly 3.5 million more homes than already expected by 2030. Economists aren't convinced that Canada can build its way out of the problem.
Economists believe Canada's annual total population growth should not exceed 300,000 to 500,000 if we plan to escape the population trap.
One particular group caught up in all this mess are International students. There are nearly 900,000 of them studying in Canada right now. I was one of them not too long ago.
International students contribute over $22.3 billion per year to the Canadian economy greater than exports of Auto Parts, Lumber or aircraft.
International graduates are a source of key talent to help support Canada's economic growth and counteract the country's aging demographic.
These students are in a way both saving this country as they're actually among the most productive, highest earning and highest achieving and in need of saving themselves.
By no means are these students to blame for this mess. These students are the victims in this situation. It is the responsibility of our government and higher education sector to behave responsibly.
